WEAK SPARK AT PLUG WIRES

i HAVE A 1961 75 JOHNSON W/ MAGNETO IGNITION. THE PROBLEM IS I HAVE WEAK TO ALMOST NO SPARK AT THE END OF THE WIRES.i HAVE POWER AT THE POINTS AND WHEN I CHECK FOR SPARK AT THE COIL IT THROWS A NICE FAT BLUE SPARK. IT SEEM THAT SOMTHING IS SHORTING OUT IN THE CAP WHEN ASSEMBLED.I JUST REPLACE THE COIL AND POINTS AND CONDENSER.ALL THE WIRES,CAP AND ROUTER HAVE COUNTINUITY THREW THEM. I'M STUMPED.PLEASE HELP!! THE BOOK I HAVE IS VERY VAGUE AND HAS NO RESISTANCE READING FOR THESE PARTS AND DON'T WANNA BUY A CAP AND WIRE IF THIS ISN'T GOING TO SOLVE IT..

The distributor rotor is sort of famous for arcing out between the metal strap, through the thin plastic, to the end of the metal shaft. Since that is the path of least resistance, that is where the spark goes. You may or may not be able to see a pin hole where it is burned through. A new one comes with a little dab of dielectric grease in the hole to help keep it from burning through..
