I have a 35hp engine on a small boat that i start with pull cord because the starter has been removed. My question is can I use a small motor cycle battery on the motor since the starter is no longer used and there is no electronics used on the boat.

Hi Bobby,

Most likely, yes. Why don't you give the year and/or model number of your motor so that we can look up the wiring diagram.

If you have no accessories that require 12V, you don't need the battery. It's not required to run the engine.

I used a battery booster pack to start my 75 hp and it was fine. The motorcycle battery should work, you're just going to have to charge it every day.
