Just returned from a weekend on the US side of the Mexico border in south Texas. White wing dove hunting was exceptional.
Found we are safe. Driving a family sedan on a large farm that belongs to my friend where hunt is held, I experienced our homeland security forces at work.
While leaving after hunting noted 2 officers running to their Border Patrol Vehicle. My friend and I thought they must have gotten a call.
Less than two minutes later we are pulled over by them. They came up behind us at 50+miles per hour on a one lane dirt farm road. The got out of vehicle with guns in hand.
As they approached the vehicle I was ordered out as I explained that I was carrying and licensed for a concealed weapon.
Had me put my hands on the car. Told my friend not to get out. I explained they were on his farm, opened the trunk, then they put their weapons away.
I think the Border Patrol impressed the young female National Guardsman. Other than that it was basically a bunch of crap. If I were a terrorist they would have both been dead.
