Sorry to say guys but due to some cost cutting or producing for large chains, the quality and effectivness of Greased Lightning has gone in the crapper.I know many here swear by it as I did too until the last bottle I bought.I did a quick decarb on my Ocean pro and it usually gets a black ring around the leg that Greased Lightning used to take right off.Well it barely made a dent in it.I reapplied it and let it soak and it still did not get it off effectively.Sorry to say but it aint what it used to be so I will be looking for something else to keep on the boat.I guess I will go back to Simple Green .

I use some stuff called Zap! that I can only find at the dollar store; works great.

i use THE RIGHT STUFF its harsh but it takes oil stains out of gell coat. instantly.

i found Formula 88 in the auto parts store. definately sold on it. and $8.00 a gallon.

I use "De-Solv-It". It is a citrus based cleaner. One of the best degreasers I've ever used. It cuts outboard exhaust residue like nobodies business.

Available at Wal Mart.

Try Krud-Kutter. This stuff is awesome and it is safe. Wally World or the big home repair chains

When I pull my boat out of Tahoe, I get a pretty nice ring around the entire boat. For some reason Kaboom is the only cleaner that will touch the stuff. It laughs at Simple Green.

Boy...you guys have such cool products down in the US, I never even heard of most of them in fact the only one I have is simple green! Even our Walmarts and Home Depots don't seem to carry the same products as yours.

Which explains the record US trade deficit! We have a lot of great stuff to export, but it seems all we want to do is buy ipods & DVD players from the Pacific Rim.

My boat got sideswiped by a hit and run jerk this summer. He also hit the fender/wheel and the bearing buddy exploded all over the side of the old (30 yrs) gelcoat. Imagine black grease everywhere. I went to West Marine and the clerk got me some FSR, which I think stands for fiberglass stain remover. Kinda a thin gel that you wipe on and wait for a few minutes and SHAZAM! the stains were gone, along with brown water stains below the water line. Worked great for me. It did not clean scuffs or black rubber marks, however.

Castrol Super Clean for anything grease/oil related. You know its good when you cough your brains out when you breath in the vapor. Starbrite Hull Cleaner works great for getting the brown scum off. Spray it on, the brown dissolves immediatly, hose it off.

Desolve it... I use it too.

Any Naptha based cleaner will work great... but be careful.
