9.9 Mariner thermostat

9.9 mariner 9.9M, # 682C S 070981. (1982-??)
I need a thermostat, Mercury site shows 3 different ones # 83282M, & 99080M, & 814554M.
Im looking to get a sierra #. From looking I think its
#18-3549, not sure though. I know the gasket # if that helps #18-0380. Thanks Edal

I have found out Sierra Does not make a thermostat for this model. Still looking for one. Being a 9.9, Do I need a thermostat on this outboard?

If the factory had a thermostat installed then yes, you need one.

Type in your serial number at www.mercurypartsexpress.com and find your tstat

Andy, I have tried the www.mercurypartsexpress.com.
It will not take my Serial #, 682C S 070981. So i added a 0 & tried 0070981, then it ask for my model # 7002200, 7004205, or 7010206. I looked at each of the diagrams that they listed & Im back to the 3 different thermostats offered.

SN code # 682C S
Serial # 070981

I can not find the notes to tell which one i need, Im guessing it is the serial #'s on which to use.

I'd email the foks at mercury. Go to there website (www.mercurymarine.com) and find the contacts. They called me within a few hours.
