rich / lean question

1958 johnson seahorse 3 hp i rebuilt the carberator and it starts up fine, but only runs about 10-15 seconds. I am not sure how you set the two front nobs on the front that adjust the rich and lean? Does anyone know how to set these? It is pretty smockey when it runs.

Turn them both out about 2 1/2 turns and start from there.

You'll have to re-index the knobs once you get it close to right.
