Do NOT spray carb cleaner into it. It needs oil as well. Make a premix of fuel and oil and use that.

So if it fires while spraying fuel into the carbs, you may have a fuel problem and not a spark problem. Does the bulb stay hard after priming it? You can start there. If it does not, could be the fuel pump. Try pumping the bulb while starting it.

Air Assualt!!!

If the bulb stays soft, do you get the smell of gas at the carbs? I'd replace the bulb and lines with it first. If that doesn't work, rebuild the fuel pump.

The guys here are a great help. You may want to spend the $$ and get a manual.

Keep us posted.

Sounds like the carb is maladjusted? What do you mean it jumps to high? Is this when you give it throttle or not?

if runnig at adlie the rpms reves up with giveing it throttle.if running at ahigh adlie rpms drop down 2 a low adlie. it was doing this brfore under a load going down river running wide open and then rpms droped about2mph then would pick back up 2 runnig right

My guess is it's dropping a cylinder and then the cylinder is kicking back in. You'll have to trouble shoot that from the plugs, wires, coils, on back to the switchbox. I've got a '74 also and have had both coils and switchbox give me this. It depends on if the miss follows the coil (when you swap them) or not.
