Have a boat with a 7.5hp max rating, and planning on puttin a 9.9 on it. I had a evinrude 6hp on it before, and the 9.9 only means an extra 14lbs (6.5kg) I think, so that shouldn't be a problem. Still, can I put the gastank up in front with a gasline running all the way back and still get it pumped without problems? Evinrude 9.9 70ish. Guess it'll have to be a 3-4m long line... Does the lenght of gasline matter?

Thanks!

Gasline, length?

The extra horsepower is not going to be a problem. The extra long gasline will be ok. Once the primer bulb is hard it will keep a steady syphon flow to the keep the engine running. Good Luck!

Had about 12ft on my Dads old boat feeding a 6hp Evinrude. No problems. The weight should not matter either, just like having a 14lb heavier person operating the tiller.

You could run the gas line all the way from shore and it will work with only a 9.9hp. Well, slight exageration maybe. But you get the idea.
