Here is my little "stump jumper" I just bought off of ebay. 13 feet long. 5ft beam. Use in horsepower restricted lakes where the 50 horse on my 15 foot Lund is not allowed. Right now going to be powered by my 10 pound thrust trolling motor until we get a small outboard. Going to pick it up on Saturday.

EDIT: sorry this link did not work. correct link in next post.

Re: My new boat!

Tashasdaddy, I saw your post about getting rid of it. Unfortunately yours was probably a little expensive for me. And, I kinda wanted a project too. But, i need a small engine for it. If any of you have one local to north Ga. (tn al sc nc etc) don't hesitate to contact me.

Re: My new boat!

Issue is itstippy lives in WI and I live in GA. Too far to easily drive and shipping is expensive. Have found a couple on craigslist and are possibly gonna check them out.

Re: My new boat!

it only cost me 90 dollars to ship that big ole 15 rude, from maine. would not be near as much for one of the lighter engines. they wrapped it up in bubble wrap, and foam peanuts, in a big box. ups ground.

Re: My new boat!

I think it cost about $25 to ship my 33hp powerhead from Missouri to my house in west central GA.

Wife not to happy with me fixing up another boat I have most of the equipment already so she was cool with that. She loves to fish to but in the 17ft. not tiny shallow boats. But I think she is going to kill me well maybe just wound me a little I just picked up a 14ft. jon boat and trailer with a 5hp. and seats for a good deal the guy I got it from is out of town for the holidays so I will pick it up next week some time Wife does not know about it YET! If my hands are not broken will post photos.8)

Re: My new boat!

Picked her up today! Took the 2 hour drive down to macon and then visited the warner robbins air mesuem. On the way back we stopped at the Bass pro shops and some other little odd places. Nice fun all day trip. Its gonna need some work but that actually makes me happier. the transom wood needs replacing and it needs a gunnel patched and a transom corner cap replaced. It will also need one of the gussets that strengthen the transom to be replaced. The trailer could use some work but all in all it was a great boat at a fairly resonable price. One thing that makes it stand out from other small tinnys is that it is 5 ft wide. Nice roomy and stable.

Re: My new boat!

I have a whole bunch of pictures that I took today to give someone a better clue but HP won't let me get them off the stupid photo thing. It is trying to take over. If I can get them to work they will appear on the post entitled "what make and what horsepower rating" that appears over in the restoration forum.

Re: My new boat!

We stripped it down as creative people can't leave anything alone.
Boat:
Gonna replace the wood in the seats w/ wood that goes all the way across and probably put a storage locker in the center. Gonna replace the wood in transom. Gonna replace the transom caps as one was made from roadsign and JB weld and the other is somewhat pitted. Gonna fix the sloppy patch on the broken gunnel and make it look intentional as opposed to a patch. Gonna get all the carpet glue out. There were a whole bunch old steel rivits and screws running through the hulls and seats where stuff used to be attached to. Gonna replace those w/ aluminum marine rivits. ( where do I get the ones w/o the holes in them?)Gonna do this and gonna do that.
Trailer: New tires, New wiring, fix bearings, torch off a whole bunch of unneeded steel including the winch post that is made of signpost. ( DMV may have unknowingly contribluted to this boat. Transom cap and bow post made of signpole.) Install better winch post, Install new tongue as other is bent all to ell and back. Change the pesky 1 7/8" coupler to 2" to avoid trouble.Put new winch on.

All this is before we take it to the water. Knowing us it will always be changed + improved.
