I am trying to get a trim sender unit for a 1997 VP 4.3GL with Cobra SX drive.
Part number on it is 3855074 and it has an M in a square with a circle around it,
There is a rubber grommet attached to the wire which fits into the hole in the boat.
There are 3 wires, 1 black ribbed, 1 black and 1 white that fit into a rubber housing and then clip into the boat harness.
Any ideas????

New part number is 3863007.

Fast Eddies Marine has them for under $40.

I have seen this one, but the white plastic part that fits into the pivot pin is the wrong shape.
My pivot pin is a 12 sided shape.
Do you have a picture

That 3863007 number is the correct number and it will work.
You can't always go by the number cast in things. That may be only one part of the assembly.

I have had the part delivered today but there is no way it will fit into the pivot pin like the old one. Do I need to change the pivot pin as well?

Did you actually try it, or just look at it and assume.
There is NO other sender than that one.

Hi,

I am new here....
Trying to replace my old trim sender unit 3855074 (M) and same story - not a valid number. I have been told that 3849411 (replacing 3863007) will do it but I kind of read that their may be troubles..... Did it work in the end ?
