Sometimes I hear one click when advancing through internet pages, sometimes I hear what seems to be multiple clicks in such rapid succession that it sounds like it's echoing, and sometimes there are distinct multiple clicks. Is this normal, a glitch, or is Big Brother watching me? :%

You're not loco, well at least not in the context of your post. I know exactly what you mean. I hear it sometimes too. I don't know why for sure either. I thought it was when a page does an automatic redirect, but I tested my theory on a know site that redirects and it didn't do it. But then again, there's more than one way to "make" a redirect.

In summary, I don't friggin know. 8)

Don't know for sure (cause I never looked) but ain't the click a part of the set program? You know, one of those programs that you can set up different stuff on...like mouse speed and stuff like that? As you can tell, I don't really know what I'm talking about but I thought I saw something like that once while exploring windows. If I got the volume up, I hear click sometimes when I click on something.

Beats me too.

Is it maybe the popup blocker? Guess you could turn it off and see if you still hear it.

I think what you're hearing are the clicks generated when the embedded JavaScript and/or ActiveX functions launch. If there's any web programmers on here, they can probably answer more succinctly.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Now I remember. Back when I used IE with Google Toolbar, which has a popup blocker it made that sound when it blocked one. I don't think my Firefox makes that sound, but I'll be listening for it.

If you go to control panel>sounds>windows explorer>blocked popup window, you can see if it is the same sound.
