Do you think the US media should show the hanging of saddam on TV?

I say yes, I want to seee him swing from a rope!

I mean if it's news worthy to show an American Soilder be shot by a snipper, then this is tv worthy as well.

Americans do not need to see it. The "al" networks (aljajeeeerah, alcnn,al cetera) need to show it over there , like they showed beheadings of truck drivers, and the mutilated bodies of coalition soldiers hanging from bridges.

No, his execution has absoloutely nothing to do with.....

Neither is worthy of TV coverage, IMHO......
Only ghouls would be interested in seeing someone be executed.....
Unless that person was directly responsible for killing a family member....

Anything put on broadcast TV is open for any eyes to see. TV should not show the hanging if only for the sake of small children. There will be plenty available on the internet.

you mean live? nah. but sure they should air the footage. because they are the media, no other reason needed. personally it won't change my life, I won't get any satisfaction from it. I think there's worse things in life than death.

I would find the site of him hanging there, already dead, somewhat acceptable.

I don't think showing the actual hanging would be appropriate.

But I guess they show worse than that in most movies, hangings, shootings, and beheadings in movies are pretty common place, and have been for decades.

Yup, but I too am curious of how Saddam comported himself in his final minutes.

Anyone remember Saddam with the young kid in GW1? The one he was petting while he held him as a human shield?

I say show it in its entirety. It can be no more harmful or outrageous than any other of the 'entertainment' they show on the tube now anyways.

personally I don't want to see the hanging.. I think that the process worked and that's one of the important things....whether you blame the Bush administration or not for the war over there...his crimes are the focal point and the fact that finally ...rule by law has prevailed IS important...not the rule of a flawed book (ie the koran).....but I think what will happen is that the civil war will escalate with his death........that's what is scary.....:/

I agree with rolmops and willie. If you want to see it, google it, it will be on the internet soon enough. But I don't want to see it, and I don't wnt my 5 year old walking into the TV room when the news is on to see it either.
