Yikes! What damage! They said there were witnesses but apparently no details about what was going on have been disclosed.

The only survivor was a 16 yr old girl. She lost her mother, sister and brother. She must be devastated.

There's a story on the side bar of the page reporting that a local Bass Pro Shops had 5 outboard motors valued at $60,000 stolen.

They recovered the last body today.
By eye witness accounts, this vessel distintegrated when it hit it's own wake.

Just tragic. These go-fast offshore boats are supposed to be built to take this. But if he stuffed it, yes. I've seen it happen at Fort Myers Beach in an offshore race. The bow angle gets beneath the wave crest, and acts like a shovel in the same attitude to the water. I'm not saying that is what happened, but i can't picture a wave taking out a boat like that unless he stuffed the wake.

Do I smell a lawsuit coming on behalf of the survivor. There is no wake that should break a boat like that apart.

If you kick up the stern and pitch pole it at speed there is NO boat that will not self destruct :( and kill the crew just like they drove into a brick wall
