I managed to dig out the 90 hp. When I get some free time I might take a Spanish language class at the local community college.:%

Dun. Used to be and OMC used to rave about the fact that their engines were OBC "Brake" hp certified.

Well, for those who don't know, don't have a dictionary handy, are curious, and are reading this, "Brake" means that you are measuring the output of the engine at the crank with NO accessories.

Today engines are "Prop" rated which is what we use and need to know, but a long way from the raw engine hp.

Re: Used motors 90HP

135

Factor in that the rating system for outboards has a 10% +/- error factor to allow for manufacturing process and model variations, and it could have anywhere from 122 to 147 hp.

That is one reason why any 2 motors of equal rated hp, may perform very differently in the real world.

Now, factor in the real world wot rpm that your motor is hitting.
If your motor was rated @ 5500 rpm,
knock off 10% if you are only hitting 5000 rpm, +10% if you are hitting 6000 rpm.

So the crank vs prop rating factor is far less important (only 4-5%), while proper engine height and prop selection can account for a 20% difference.

Hello Tony in Monterrey, Mexico.

I am afraid you will not find a source for motors.
Good Luck in your search.
