Have you rebuilt the carburetors?

What plugs are you using?

Have you decarbed the engine?

Do you run the boat hard, troll, ski? Give a little information, get a lot back.

I wouldn't run it again until you clean the carbs or find out what all is wrong. That set up should be capeable of way more than 4500. And I don't believe altitude is an issue for you.

If you have some cylinders starving for fuel, you'll damage the pistons. Has the motor been sitting?

Check Your Fuel Lines And Make Sure They Are Tight So That There Is No Air Getting In Your Fuel Lines. Next Remove Carbs And Add Some Gasket Glue To The Gasket Between The Carbs And The Intake Manifold You Are Getting Air In Your Carbs That Is Why Your Outboard Is Running We Repair Outboards And That Is The Prob 90% Of The Time. Hope This Will Help Get Back On Water

Re: evinrude 150 crossflow carb probs ?

Benny, another new engine? A lean sneeze at idle when the engine is cold is pretty normal. Should go away when warmed up after a minute. If it still lean sneezes, after warmed up, then it is running lean on one or more cyls at idle. You may have some crud in one or more of the idle passages in the carbs. Time to get the aerosol carb cleaner out and overhaul the carbs. Esp, make sure you check the carb cleaner flow (spray) through all the passages so they are all the same. Visually check each jet for restrictions when you remove them during cleaning.
