Trim Problems

i got a 81 115 hp mercury and when i lift up the motor it wont go down i have to wait about 20 minutes then it might go down the fluid is full any suggestions ty Kevin

Welcome to iboats Kevin!

Not sure about your year of 115, but on my 76 the pump has a vent screw above the fill screw. If yours has that. you want to loosen the vent screw and work the motor up and down to get air out of the system.

I'd disconnect the postive wire from the battery for the power tilt/ trim before you loosen the vent screw or you might get a spark show (don't ask how I know :} )

I'm sure others will be along with other, and maybe better ideas.
