while here, I remember someone telling me it's about 4000pounds lighter then a comparable boat the same size? that cant be good?

bayliner of that vintage, in the smaller boats, has a poor reputation, for rot. i don't know about the bigger ones. for my peace of mind, i would spend the money, and have a professional surveyor, survey the boat. there are many things on a 20 year old boat that could be on the brink. exhaust hoses, manifolds, and rot. if serious about the boat, have it surveyed. the survey also makes a very good negotiating tool.
