Re: Glastron or Stingray
Yup -- I drop in here pretty well first, middle, and last thing every day... 8)
As for the boats, I can't help noticing the wide variation in model years there. I would assume that a 1989 boat is going to be requiring all sorts of work that a 2002 would not, which in turn is going to require work that the brand new Stingray would not.
If the prices are comparable owing to the fact that the bigger boats are oldest I'd give overall condition and possible upcoming maintenance a lot of weight.
Of course there's going to be water that the 23 will be better suited to than the 19, but I'm assuming you've given the mission-critical requirements some thought too.
And finally, do some research into the build quality of all three. I'm only familar with the Glastron, which in 2002 might already have been absorbed by Genmar, monster boat maker of a thousand brand names. The one 2005 Glastron CC I looked at last summer had lots of poor fit and finish issues and the console itself was -- quite frankly -- a thin, flimsy thing that actually wobbled and flexed as the boat sat at the dock with the 135 Optimax idling out back.
