I have a bowling tournement this weekend. Today is the team event, tomorrow is doubles and singles. So I ask for luck with that, but more so that I make it there and back safely.

Last night we were forcasted for 2-4" of snow, a dusting before the blizzard of tomorow. What I woke up to was 10" of the white stuff. I live just far enough north of Milwaukee where they only got 4"-6" according to those I talked to. I get to travel 45 minutes or so West bowl this weekend. 10-14" tonight could make for an interesting trip...........

My hat is off to anyone who survives winter in the Northlands.

But I do remember that Wisconsin and Minnesota summers are fair compensation.8)

Bowl well, Pony. You have the honor of iboats to uphold.

I bowled on the company team one year. We even took the trophy despite one of our opponents in the finals bowling a perfect game. One of the nights, two of my teammates were comparing bowling balls. One was plastic, the other rubber. Each said to the other "feel this". It was too easy! I turned to another of my teammates and said "Pretty bad when they start feeling eachother's balls." ;)

Don't be too suprised if they call the tourney. I think a lot of goings on will be cancelled around here tomorrow. If not, drive carefully and pack a shovel.

Made it there and back safely. The roads were clear going out, and they didnt get bad on the way home today until within 10 miles of home. For those who know the state I was bowling in Watertown. The tournement is one that is help every year by the Knights of Columbus, of which I am a member.

I just got a new ball a month ago and had previously thrown 3 games with it. I was having a lot of trouble getting my thumb out of it properly the first 6 games this weekend, when finally I had the pro shop guy at the alley open up the hole for me. I normally am a 180ish bowler, which is nothing compared to my dad. (It was sort of funny, some guys were making comments about his bowling bag when we walked in, its a new 3 ball bag and its huge......my dad heard some guy say "i bet that guy is a 160 bowler and is just compensating for...........; anyways we bowled against that clown and my dad bowled 257-240-236 in his 3 games. Didnt hear a peep after that)

I was shooting 160-170 until I had my thumb hole opened up. The game after I did that I ran the first 8 and finished with a 258 game.

Last year my dad and I took 2nd in doubles with a 1494 seriers. So we averaged 250ish a game.

Certaily a lesson I learned from him. I was actually angered by the comments (being a sometimes hotheaded young man) since I heard them as well, but he was calm as calm could be. Later he told me, he'd rather shut them up with his bowling than with his words.....and a few friendly nods after strikes.

Re: Wish me some Luck..............please.

I have another tournement this weekend. Supposed to have another storm coming through, hopefully it will not affect the weekend. Looks like a solid three days of rain/snow/sleet/ freezing rain mix. I can't wait to see how badly the local media blows this one out of proportion......
