I think I've told y'all that I work 3rd shift, 7 nights on ,7 nights off. Friday was the 1st of 3 days vacation.
I got home at 8:00 AM. Stayed awake and messed around the house and finally went to bed at 5:00 PM. Slept till 3:00 AM. That's 10 hours of sleep. From 3:00AM to 5:00 AM looked at the computer. Went back to bed at 5:00 AM and slept again till 11:00 AM. Another 6 hours.
Now I'm offically back with the living people on day shift and I don't return to work for another 9 days. Life is good.

Did that sort of stuff a few times, too, T2F.

Dang near killed me at least once.

I think I agree with Roscoe.

Re: My first day of a 3 day vacation

When I was in college (and for a year after) I worked for Cargill as a chemist. During school, my regular schedule was 3p-7p Fri., and 7a-7p Sat. and Sun.. (Sometimes, though, it would be 7p-7a Sat. and Sun. ). Most of the time it was no problem, but I was also playing bass in a very popular band. Every once in awhile, the two would collide. I called them hell weekends. I would get out of class on Friday, go to work 3p -7p, leave work, stop by home to change clothes, go to wherever the band was playing, set up, sound check, and eat dinner at the bar. Then we'd play until 2am or so, break down and by the time I would get home, usually ~ 5am, I would have just enough time to shower and get back to work by 7am Saturday. I'd work all day Sat., leave at 7pm, go to wherever we were playing Sat. night, setup, sound check, eat, etc.. We'd play until 2am or so, break down and once again I would get home about 5am with just enough time to get a shower and get back to work by 7am Sunday. I would get home from work around 8pm Sunday, and within 15 minutes I was out cold, not having slept since the Thursday night before! Looking back now, I don't know how I did it...but I do remember how hard it was to watch all the union guys that worked out in the plant leaving at 3pm on Sunday...when I had 4 more hours left...
