Bronze props

Hey prop man! Ya ever heard of OJ props? The O stands for where they were made and the J stands for Johnson. Actually I think they are nibral, not bronze.

I just bought (two) two blade solid hub ones, NOS, mainly for show, on a classic Chrysler engine. As such, I really don't care about their performance, just how they will look, polished, and in photos..

I'm curious though-- What kind of reputation did they have and is OJ still making props?

Are you sure that's an O and not a P? PJ was Michigan Wheel's designation for Johnnyrude props. Michigan Wheel is still very much in business.

No, not sure. I'll let you know when they are delivered. I'm sure they will have some numbers on them. But I will admit, the photos did look a lot like an old Michigan two blade wheel I have for another Chrysler engine.

Full info on the NOS solid hub race props I recently bought. Perhaps someone knows of or remembers this company?

Johnson props made in Oakland Calif.

Box shows: OJ Johnson Stern Drive, Inboard, and Outboard Propellers. 603 Lancaster Street, Oakland 1, Calif. Thus the name OJ. Note address is before introduction of zip codes

Prop # P66, ser. no. A66265, Looks like its dated 10-67.

Also shows a 3 degree cup. I know what cupping is but what Is a 3 deg. cup?
