To me the boat is a hole in the water to throw money at but………… the wife hates it and the kids hate it.

So……… it's my little piece of very expensive, sanity

Hey sc_shane. You're the guy that started all this. I saw that Avatar of yours and it inspired me to open this thread.

Thanks from all of us 8)

Re: If your Home's your Castle, What's your boat?

My boat is my off season deer hunting substitute. Over the years I have learned to just enjoy sitting in a deer stand soaking up nature. If a deer comes along I want, I'm fine with it but it's no longer quite as important as it once was.

Same thing with my boat. I fish but enjoy just being out on a lake much the same way I do when I'm out hunting. I grew up lake fishing from boats and my new "old" boat brings back a lot of good memories for me now that I'm in my 50's.

I am glad I'm not the only one that sits in his boat, on the trailer, at the house having a beer. Feels natural to me.

Great thread! Have to say its my floating castle. Hours of quality family time. All the above posts echo my feelings, but I did think I was the only one doing the boat thing in the garage with a beer.d:)

Thanks Texasmark - I thought that was kinda funny when I stuck it there (the Avatar) but also know HOW TRUE! d:) This forum is great and this post just makes me want to get out on the water! It has been almost hot here this week and last week. Can't wait to get out this weekend - forecast is 81 on Friday and 84 on Saturday!!!!

Thinking the same thing. I'll be hitting Cane Creek Park Lake, or maybe Lake Wateree Saturday. Got my new fish finder, new keyfob remote for my W45 Trolling motor and a batch of new gear from the recent Bass Pro Shop sale. Gotta hit the water! Good luck! 8)

4 outside that run, building another Flatbottom/big Merc. Spending too much time on where the dog wants a good view is a guaranteed way to heaven. I ain't happy unless I'm clinking wrenches...
