Re: IBD editorial

Some people just refuse to accept the obvious truth, even when it wops them upside the head with a 4x4. Sheesh!

"Kill the Messenger" has no place in modern society. Yet time after time it rears it's ugly head.

Have any of you Bush Enablers ever considered that precious few spies are shadowy recluses? It's called maintaining a "cover". Jeez!

What these right-wing nutjob websites would like you to believe is that she practically took out an ad in the Yellow Pages "Valerie Plame, American Spy". Get a grip.

Re: IBD editorial

The funniest part was when Henry Waxman (an incredibly transparent party hack) was questioning Victoria Toensing.

Waxman-"I am stunned, Ms. Toensing, that you would come here with absolute conclusions that she was not a covert agent; the White House did not leak it; no one seemed to know in advance that she was a CIA agent. Do you know those facts for your own firsthand knowledge? "

Toensing-"Well, lets just take those one by one. As I said, I was there. I was the chief drafter for chairman --"

Waxman-" I'm not asking for your credentials. I'm asking how you reached those conclusions. Do you -- "

Toensing-"That's part of my credentials is because I know what the intent of the act was."

Now Get this;

Waxman-"I'm not asking what the intent of the act was."

Toensing-"Well that’s the question"

Waxman-"Do you know that she was not a covert agent?"

Toensing-"She is not a covert agent under the act."

Waxman-" Okay, so -- "

Toensing-"You can call anybody anything you want to in the halls of the CIA."

Waxman-"General Hayden! General Hayden, head of the CIA, told me personally that she was. If I said that she was a covert agent, it wouldn't be an incorrect statement?"

Toensing-"Does he want to swear that she was a covert agent under the act?"

Waxman-"I'm trying to say as carefully as I can. He reviewed my statement, and my statement was that she was a covert agent."

Toensing-" Well, he didn't say it was under the act."

Now get this again;

Waxman-"Okay, so you're trying to define it exactly under the act"

Toensing-"That's important."

Now here comes the last word in liberal buffonery;

Waxman-"No, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not giving you -- I'm not yielding my time to you."

...and so the beat goes on. The rank and file continue to stand in line to allow themselves to be deluded by these power hungry socialists.

Re: IBD editorial

Ya know Willy, Sometimes ya have ta listen and ponder the adjenda n' truthfullness o' the ol' messenger. Novel corncept don't ya think. Ms. Plame n' her hubby Mr. Willson are very sharp well n' cornected gold diggers extrordinare. I wish I had a violin ta play a sad tune fer 'em. :':)'( They have made soooooooo much money over their books n' interviews n' all they r' suin' people who harmed 'em. :}:} One thing the ol' brain cell does know: they are both bald faced liars. :$:%8) Me thinks one should ponder the truth n' objectives o' some messengers. Kinda reminds me o' one o' me favorite folks in Politics: ol' John F Kerry, (the honorable Senator who served n' Vietnam). Those who have at least one brain cell can see ol' JFK, (Kerry) for what he is. My $.02. JR

Re: IBD editorial

Went to that site that you recommended JR,Whoo Doggies ,it is so full of wholes don’t know where to start.

I think that I will start with the center piece of you article, the Congressman from the State of Georgia, that represents the 8th Congressional district, he has been in the House since January of 2005, he has never introduced a pieces of legislation ,but he co-sponsored a bill that would require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

No problem with that, but would at least think that anyone that is listed as a cosponsor of a bill would be able to at least know more that three of the ten commandments wouldn’t you?

<<WESTMORELAND: The Ten Commandments is not a bad thing for people to understand and to respect.

COLBERT: I'm with you.

WESTMORELAND: Where better place could you have something like that than in a judicial building or in a courthouse?

COLBERT: That is a good question. Can you think of any better building to put the Ten Commandments, than in a public building?

WESTMORELAND: No. I think if we were totally without them we may lose a sense of our direction.

And now the punchline...
COLBERT: What are the Ten Commandments?

WESTMORELAND: What are all of them? You want me to name them all?

COLBERT: Yes please.

WESTMORELAND: Hmm... Don't murder. Don't lie. Don't steal. Uhhh... I can't name them all.>>

http://tailrank.com/posts/562949953668532/Only_on_The_Colbert_Report__Westmoreland_co-sponsors_bill_on_the_Ten_Commandments_and_can't_even_name_them

I believe It’s also on youtube if you want to here it.

But of course with the Conservatives he has made up for all of that, by asking …Drum roles please, he asked her whether she and her husband are Democrats? Kinda reminds one of these famous words uttered by another Republican Joseph. McCarthy doesn’t it? "Are You Now or Have You Ever Been"

. In 2006 he lead the charge in the fight against extending the voting rights act for minorities on the grounds that it treated states like Georgia unfairly, this dudes a real piece of work.

Here is another quote from the article that JR is so proud of.

<<Her cover was 'blown' in 2003 by then-Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage. Armitage was never charged with a crime, because she was no longer a covert agent>>

I wonder of this guy has any TV’s in his house, must be an old article or something maybe he just failed to proof read it .

The CIA ADMITS it, and if she HADN'T been covert, there wouldn't have been an investigation IN THE FIRST PLACE! Get over it and smell the coffee, will ya?

Even Foxx News admits Plame was covert now.. Believe it or not, I flipped past a report last night and that's exactly what they said!

Here's the definition from the statute:

(4) The term “covert agent” means—
(A) a present or retired officer or employee of an intelligence agency or a present or retired member of the Armed Forces assigned to duty with an intelligence agency—
(i) whose identity as such an officer, employee, or member is classified information, and
(ii) who is serving outside the United States or has within the last five years served outside the United States;...

Obscure.
I must've missed some point somewhere.
I don't get what the point is that you're trying to make if any, Treedancer.
Isn't Colbert that fruitcake dude on the "daily show"?
If so, I never watch it.
