I have an old Johnson 25hp. I just started it up today and it runs great after a carb kit. I noticed that the throttle control on the tiller handle was not working right. I took the tiller handle all apart and cleaned out the old grease. At the end of a brass/bronze horizontal throttle shaft there is a gear that has a bolt going through the grear for tension. It is broken in 2 pieces. This gear turns another gear that is at the bottom of the throttle linkage rod, this rod goes up along the side of the motor. The broken gear is aluminum. The previous owner tried wiring the gear together but it is not working now. There are some numbers on the back side of the gear that read: 303142 D-2 2. I have no idea were to get a new gear. I am thinking about putting JB weld on it to see if that works. Any help/suggestions would be helpful.
