Re: Sean Penn: Peace activist or - - -

Very good and very enlightening post Mark42! Michael Medved is having his talk show cover this speech this hour, (1:00 PDT today 3/26). I thought you stayed clear of politics here on DC. Maybe you were just in a 'very bad mood' as you stated when you stumbled across my Ralph Peters' thread a while back, that seemed to really upset you, (your own words). If you don't mind politics, then I don't need to post a warning on future threads here on DC that I start that involves politics. Please don't ask me to guess what you cornsider 'normal', as I wouldn't have a clue. Is Sean Penn "just another complete a$$?" Maybe; maybe not: I don't know the man, (so it's hard tellin' not knowin'). He may be just another fellow American that is missguided like those who populate the Seattle Metro area, and most major urban areas in the US today. I have friends that believe the same things that Mr Penn does, (and they are good people; just missinformed: that's all). What I do know is the fact that he is a talented and wealthy actor, and his speech was fairly lucid and fairly well stated (the well known postitions of the American Left). There is no need for the MSM to print or repeat his speech as the Left's positions are fairly well publicized, and Mr. Penn's positions are also fairly well known. Many in the MSM, (possibly the majority), hold Mr. Penn's positions as well. I hope all of you know that, if you don't I have a bridge for sale, (make ya a real good deal). Notice the relative moralizm America = Iran, (both have good people and terrible governments). Don't you remember the USA is just as good or bad as the USSR? He also called the people in America and Iran with whom he disagrees: 'haters'. I have been called a 'hater' here on iboats. That type of language is not new rheteric for the American Left, it has been here since the early 20th century. He agrees with Rosie O'donnell, who stated this morning that the 15 Brits captured by Iran, may not have even happened, (it could be our government) and Mr. Bush is just looking for a way to make war on Iran. Nothing new here just a little clarity: that's all. Respectfully, (and I mean it) JR ps; I really enjoyed this linc: Thank You Mark42

He has a right to express his opinion as much as anyone else. Disagreeing does not make him an A$$.

I love him as an actor, I couldnt care less what his political views are. To each his own.

Hey Eric. Ya have to learn to be 'tolerant' of Libs like Mr. Penn, if you n' Tree come up n' hang out with me on RR island. It's not far from Seattle, n' most of 'em agree with the way PW2 presents things! Bro Haut is far to tough to be cornsidered anything like the Seattle Libs. JR 8)8) ps: Bagdad Jim McDermott wins landslides here in God's country whether some one runs against him or not. I think Mr. Penn is a right winger compared to Bagdad Jim!

or..... typical rich Hollyweird communist living in an altered reality. Heavens, he wrote the President? W should clear his agenda and fling open the doors of the WH so Sean and Rosie and their ilk can come tell him how to steer the ship of state.

What a shame he's too busy living the good life in Malibu to devote his time to politics.

What a wanker.

You know, I love sanctimonious types.

I just did a quick scan through about 10 threads from multiple posters, including moderators, and saw many words worse than a slang British term for the male *****. In fact, it could just mean what a jerk, and yet, you call me out. Even in threads you posted in that had many worse words, you said nothing to the poster. Hmmm...

Hypocrite? Unfriendly towards new people? Or just a personal dislike for me fo rsome unknown reason. My politics perhaps which are no secret?

Eitherway, wouldn't want bad blood between us. Sorry I typed a word that offends your sense of dignity and propriety. Won't happen again.

Yeah, sometimes people just need to keep their mouths shut. Otherwise, people post links to your tirade at iboats.com.

Oh, by the way, isn't this the same Sean Penn that nearly sank his boat in New Orleans trying to "save" needy people? Perhaps he should start reading some of the posts about making sure your plug is in before launching!!

I wasn't a huge fan of "Team America: World Police", but their depicition of Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and Alec Baldwin in the Film Actor's Guild (FAG) was just too priceless. What a bunch of nuts...
