Selectrim Motor Sticker Shock

Hey all,

Ive been searching for the selectrim motor (OMC#'s 983318 982073 ARCO# 6011) And people want $200-$400 for these things!! ITs a motor! Magnets and wire!

Besides wondering why there so expensive I was wondering if anyone has one of these sitting around for less than $150. I dosent need to be new or pretty, jsut work.

It's expensive because it is an OMC marine part.....
I'd look on ebay......

TR211(aluminum) or TR210 (Steel) are the repair kits if that'll help you... $45.95 & $32.95 retail. The number I got for the Arco replacemetn motor is AR6211.

is this for a 4 cylinder... the one that mechanically lifts the front?
I have a couple of those front trim mounts - I can go try the motors...not sure if they worked or not.

its the mechanical worm gear type that screws the engine up and down. THe motor was missing when i got the boat. I turned it with a screw gun and it lifts and lowers jsut fine. I dont know why the motor was missing.

KJ- Even if they dont work, I can probably fix it. I rebuilt a rusted tilt motor witha couple springs from a pen, and it works fine. How muhc you would want for somthing like that??
