I have finally saved up enough $ for a PD. A guy on the BBC boards is selling a 50 PD. Thing is, he is clueless as to how much to sell it for. And I don't want to spend more than possible. How much is reasonable for it? I don't yet know the year, but will as soon as he emails me back.
Thanks.

He says it is 4 or 5 years old. He will leave the Humminbird transducer on it, and send the unit that he is not 100% certain it works. All this for 275. This sounds reasonable to me as I have seen older 40 # exceed $225. What say you?

Get in writing that the foot controller is 100% functional. If that unit has been left in the weather it may be of marginal quality. If the unit has the flat connector, a new replacement at Cabela's (for example) is $70. The Humminbird Transducer is not worth much unless you have a head unit to attach it to. Have him throw in that in. (It's at least worth a try) 8)

Re: Powerdrive 50 pricing Q

id say keep looking i seen a older fisherman sell i a powerdrive 50 for about 250. he had just paid almost twice that not even 1 year before that. he just said you cant teach and old dog new tricks he just couldnt get use the the electric steering of it and had to go back to the cable steering type foot pedal. just thought you may want to keep an eye out you may be able to get a dang near new one for cheap in a similer type situation. and 4 or 5 years aint bad for a manual steering motor but a electric type steering one id want a little newer there probaly is alot more to go wrong with them then the manual ones ... just my 2 cents ,,, have a fun and safe fishing season
