I've read though here a bunch of times and I just want to make sure im doing this right. Tell me if im right or wrong.

1. Resin and glass two 3/4" pieces of ply together. Once that drys then.
2. Glass and resin that onto the back wall ( outter skin).
3 Glass over the whole thing making sure to seal it up air tight?
Thanks

Re: Getting ready to put in new tansom.

You got it. But when performing steps 1 and 2, I also like to trowel out a mixture of resin and milled fibers. This will fill any low spots so that lamination and the install are 100% void free.

Before step 1 and after step 2, Make some fillets around the angles where the hullsides/bilge meet the transom. This does two things:
1. when performing step 3, it will help the glass conform more easily (ie a radiused corner is much easier than a 90 degree one).
2. Increase the strength of the 90 degree corners. They come 90 degrees out of the factory (don't know why) and they aren't as strong as a radiused corner. Maybe some boat manufacturers do, but I know a handful that don't.

Not to blow my horn or anything, but I took lots of pictures when I did this.. Check out my share a project, link is in my signature. Once you've read all of that you can search share a project for others that have done transoms as well..

Good luck..
