water from prop

alpha 1

I put the muffs on and started the engine and there was water coming out the center of the prop. Is this normal or am I in trouble? It never did that on my old boat. A 85 140 Merc on a Wellcraft. Thanks for the help

it was out like it was the outlet from the motor

There are a couple of approx. 1" idle relief ports in the transom shield that the water normally comes out of when on muffs. Are the plugged up with anything? OR, there is less resistance to the water flow going out the prop. That is where most of the exhaust and water goes when on step anyway.
If you don't have any idle issues in the water and no overheat problems don't worry about it.

Thanks, I was hoping it was normal on this outdrive. I'll find out more when I change the impeller
