96 merc 150 efi

change the wtaer pump but still spits not a stream can anyon give me an idea what could be doing this

Lots of mercs do this, spitting instead of peeing...doesn't mean anything in itself....are the heads too hot to touch for two seconds? Do you have an overheat problem?

NO OVERHEATING THE GUAGE IS NEW AND DOESNT MOVE,also after running it for about ten min you can put youre hand on the heads and they are just warm

ok i got ya on that one , now can anyone tell me if i can disconect and plug the speedometer hose coming fron the lower unit,and install a external speedometer unit on the transom or will that effect the motor,ever since i did the water pump and put the lower unit back together my speedometer stopped working?,i rechecked the speedometer line from the motor to the gauge by blowing air in it and the needle still moves freely but when the hose is hooked up i get no speed reading?.
