135 merc blackmax how do i change my impellor

ive just brought a boat with a v135hp black max its not been run for about 1 year its a 1993 model ive put the muffs on and no water comes out of tell tale. When started i can feel air coming out of tell tale but no water i got told it could be the impellor so i brought 1 know how do i change it ive taken off 3 nuts at the front and 1 long bolt at the back i expected the gear box to come off but nothing happened can you help also any good advise on service and maintainance thanks
ps i want to get the boat on water this weekend

i would buy a manual before u go any farther

Easy job, who needs a manual. here are the steps required.

1. Remove lower unit
2. Remove pump housing
3. Install new impeller with some lube
4. Install pump housing with new gaskets
5. Reinstall lower unit back on motor

Oh, BTW, if you broke a lot of expensive parts following those instructions, then now is the time for an OEM manual, not a Seloc or Clymers.

Put the bolts back in, use compressed air the blow back in the pisser. See if that works, If not go buy a manual (Oem perferred),and follow the steps above!...easier if a fresh water boat.

Did you remove the trim tab and look under it? There is usually a bolt hiding under there. If the unit has been used in salt water you may need to bump it down with a rubber mallet. Hope this helps.

i appreciate all your help, still i removed 3 nuts at front of lower unit housing and 1 long bolt under trim tab yes it has been in salt water could this be why i cant rmove the lower unit, how hard can i hit it, is there any special place to hit it to relise it scared of cracking housing if any 1 has a manual for it scan and email it to me at christianhousley@bigpond.com much appreiciative also any hints and tips on maintanance and are they a good outboard.
