looking to replace the 1985 OMC 260 hp GM 350 V8 Stern Drive in my 27' Chaparral Cabin Cruiser. Would like to replace with a more fuel efficient engine without major changes or remortgaging the house. Any one got an idea on a good replacement?
thanks

With a 27' boat,......... What you've Got, is about as Good as it Gets.......

Any Increase in Fuel Mileage will come from Controlling Your Righthand.......

The best way to improve mileage is to reduce weight in the boat and consider repowering with a duoprop. I've found that 3400 rpm was the sweet spot for my older 5.7. This took me up to approx 37 mph using a 15X15 prop
