Carb question

Low speed orifice (on both carbs) doesn't have a screw. It looks like something has been hammered in place. I first thought this was the cause of my poor performance (barely pulls) until I found a leak at the fuel connector.
Just curious to see if the orifice description was normal for any particulr model carbs, or if someone rigged it together in the past?

Re: Carb question

The idle jets in your carburetors are located from the tops of the float bowls as shown in the parts diagram for your motor at the BRP Parts Catalog site. Look for the number 3 in the carburetor diagram. You have to remove the float bowls to access them.

Re: Carb question

Actually #3 is the mid range jet. The idle jet is #7 located in the roof of the venturi. Makes it a lot easier to get to.

Re: Carb question

My error, and a question please; Since you can easily reach both sides of the jets in the top of the venturi, is there any justification for loosening them and taking the risk of one falling out later and ruining the engine?
