Found a replacement lower from a guy i know in NY.He has 2 different ones. I can get my choice for 400 bucks.
The blue one has been apart and new seals put in but no water pump, and has been leak tested.
The other is as shown, was leak tested and ok and has the water pump.
I planned on a new pump anyway.
I'm leaning torwards the blue one..just wanted some input..

You need the gear ratio to be the same as yours or you may have to buy a new propeller.

Make sure that the drive shaft is the same length as yours.

Make sure that the top of the shift rod is the same as yours.

Ask for the bolts. Ask for the zinc. Ask for the thrust bearing. Ask for the nut. Ask for the propeller nut spacer. Ask for the number of splines.

Ask for the measurement from the center of the prop shaft to the bottom edge of the skeg - it needs to be more than the radius of the propeller that you intend to use.

Finally, ask for a guarantee that the propeller shaft is not bent.

All good points,well taken.
The blue one is from a V6 so i need to make sure but i thought all the sixes were the same gear ratio..
I'll have him email me the serial if he can.
I know the shift rod is the same end,,

Look at vents next to the anode. The blue case is a later model case. 1990 or newer. Looks like the white lower has a lot of the skeg worn off. From the missing paint, I would say it has been plowing a lot of sand, silt. I'd vote for the blue one, based on cosmetics, if everything checks out like ezeke mentioned.

The d/s splines will all be the same on V6 and V8 cases. Also V4's that have the same mounting bolt pattern.

The 60* driveshaft is slightly shorter (3/8") but will work. I don't think that blue case is from a 60* V6. But it would work even if it was. And the shift shaft would be different.

There are some gearcases that fit a V4 that are the size of a V6 with a different gear ratio. Those came on loopers so if this case has the exact same shift shaft as your crossflow it's not likely that's one of them.
