I’m not a poor man by all modern measurements. And as it is appropriate for all people of my circle I had an unexpected desire to buy a boat. Let's assume, just for admiration of marvelous landscapes of our lovely capital city – Kiev while sliding on a tempting smooth surface of waters of Dnieper. Having learned from friends that one of the most respected companies in this sphere is an organization named “ARVOR”, I have decided to make the order through its official representative in Germany – ?Boots Center? firm, - one well-known businessman tells to “Rezonans”.

The Germans have always been famous for their discipline and reliability. But, probably, these qualities extend exclusively to the people who are proud of calling themselves “the members of the European Union”. How elsewise can be explained the fact that after signing all official documents and paying all accounts the lawful owner has not seen his boat till now. The phrase from a favorite Soviet cartoon film “Winnie-the-Pooh” is recollected: “One hour has passed, and than another hour, and another….”. But time here is not calculated in hours – the term of execution of the German distributor’s obligations has expired long time ago.

Perhaps the proud Aryans have not completely eradicated ideas taken as an ideological basis during WW II, when all other nations were considered as people of the second quality or even not human beings? Is it really the time when just the Ukrainians have to be treated as derelicts and with "devil-may-care" attitude from our close "European" neighbors?

It is not that complicated as it seems – the concept ?a man of his word? has lost its inherent meaning in Germany long ago and people are nothing but greedy for gain. And the Bible Commandment "Deceive Not" is left exclusively for those who still believe sincerely that the Lord watches everything.

Hello, Mariner.

Welcome to iboats. :)

I admire your use of English, and sympathize with your frustration with the boat dealer.

I do, however, disagree with your conclusions about the thoughts of a German businessman and his motives for poor performance. I find that the modern German businessman is as concerned with satisfying his customer as any, perhaps moreso than some. I doubt that he harbors any disdain for Ukranians.

It is common here in the USA to assign thoughts and motives to one with whom we are dissatisfied and then attack those thoughts and motives as though they were fact, rather than inventions of our own making. I find that one of the least admirable features of our culture and am dissapointed to find it in a gentleman of your culture as well.

Please contact the German gentleman and ascertain why the problem has occurred. Then please report to us his explanation and the final resolution.

Thanks. :)
