When I was an elementary school student in Miami, I experianced the rapid transformation of my city from english to Spanish , thanks to Castro and the "Mariel boat lift". Tho it was 45 years ago, I recall the madatory spanish classes as little more than an hour added to my werkday.
Well, after a long protruded battle, I surrender. I bought a Spanish language learning package last night. It has reached a level of risk to my personal safety on te job, and a detrement to public safety.
Some of you may have seen the pics of the loader on it's ear that I posted recently?
Well, I don't oversee these crews on a directive level, I'M just Q.C. and public safety on this project. Even so, it doesn't take much to see the risks America has exposed itself to by ignoring our pourous borders and our basic "liberty-for-all" doctrine.
I do not think one has to absolutely pick up a firearm and blow our American heads off -- They just have to be oblivous to what we are saying to them -- stuff like "drop the bucket!!! Drop it drop it!!!!"
My DESIRE to learn this new language is as unatural today as it was 45years ago. But it's not "play-time" I look forward to any longer after werk, either. The stakes are far higher.
