Might also consider changing the boot as well. no sense filling the new bearing up with new water too.

Buy the bellows kit not that much more considering the pita your gonna have putting it all back together.
First time I did mine it took me hours and hours. I think I could do it again in less than an hour though.
You will need a few tools,
Alignment tool, bellows expander(Although I made due without one).
a slide hammer to get the bearing out
and that should be enough
read the manual as posted above. Print it out and follow it word for word.

Like it was said above.
a slide hammer
alignment tool
those two are a must
bearing driver ( but I use a soft brass bar to tap the bearing in)
the other stuff I woudl jsut replace because youre alerady there
the alignment tool is gonna run you abotu 90-100$
the slide hammer probably 40-50

I couldn't get mine to budge with a slide hammer - seems the transom just kept absorbing the impacts I ended up making a real simple threaded rod puller.

Your really gonna have to heave on it good to get it out, its possible that its rusted inplace. you might want to try soaking it down with some good penetrating fluid for a day or so first. Release All works good.

Sometimes when they are really stuck it helps to drive them in to break'em loose. Then pull 'em out. As KJDKJD said, I've had to use a piece of all-thread and a plate with the puller screwed on the end to get them out too. They can be a PITA. It is not coming out without the puller. And an alignment tool is a MUST after re-installing the new one.
Good luck!
