My floating money pit

I got this 1968 Starcraft and 72 25hp Evinrude with electric start for $800. I cleaned the carb and replaced the impeller. The motor runs like a champ! So far, I've gutted the boat, primed and painted it, replaced the trailer, and installed the floor bracing. Next up is deck bracing, livewell, storage, bench seats, and foam floatation. Where is the best place one would get stick steering? Any certain brand?

i've used this on 2 boats, the mounting bracket is in iboats store under control, $27.00.. i made mine. i have no complaints, and found it very easy to use. steering on the left, and controls on the right. if you don't have the tilt tube mount , you will need the transom mount, like in the picture.

db, I'm sure that many people developed their skills by starting with small projects and asking questions as they came to a deadend. Ya ain't ever gonna have the skills if you don't start somewhere. No one was born with them.

Just remember, when you are doing a project, there is no substitute for the proper tool, and most tools today are cheaper than they ever have been.
