Hello,I have a 1986 Baja force 220 with a 350/260 HP mercruiser IO.It runs perfect up to 2800 rpms but at that speed when I give it gas it bogs down and will stall if I let it.If I feather it up past 3300 rpms it will run fine it only bogs between 2800 and 3300 rpms .I can run it up to 2800 with no problems unless I really horse it.The motor is rebuilt with noly 130 hours and has run fine up to now.The carb was not rebuilt and is original. Any thoughts on this would be helpful.I was told to replace the accelerator pump Could that be it ??

Can you play with it and get to WOT (wide open throttle) should be around 4600 rpm.

A 1986 carb that has never been rebuilt? and it still runs? impossible, I say.

Why? If he's been running clean fuel and changing his filters reguarly, I see your point....

Bond-o thanks for the compliments, but someone in this household has to pay the bills, and since I live alone, I guess that's me again. I'm off for about 3-4 months, Myanmar and Russia. Probably won't have internet access, so I'll see ya'll when I get back.....

Later, achris, but I have never seen a carb go 30 years with no rebuild- if they would, I need that filter.

Yes it has never been rebuilt but I am meticulous in my maintnance being a towboat US captain.I can play with it and get WOT but you all are probobly right I should rebuild it. Also I live in buffalo ny where the season is short and the layup is long!
