Exhaust Bellows

I Have An 89 Cobalt With A 4.3lx. My Mechanic Recently Had The Drive Off To Do Some Work. He Told Me I Could Leave The Exhaust Bellows Off To Give The Boat A Nice Rumble. He Said His Has Been Off For Years With No Problems. I'm A Little Concerned About Water Getting In The Engine. Any Comments Would Be Appreciated!

Water can't enter that way,... Unless the Flapper Valves are gone........
And even Then,.... The Bellows would be Irrevelant........
There's the Slight possibility that some Heat could be imparted on the Drive Bellows,......
Merc. now has an Exhaust Tube, rather than the Bellows......
It's a Simple, Easy Install.....
If you're that concerned,..... Look into the Tube......
