Hey guys,my tilt/trim motor is shot and needs replacing. My question is
do you have to pull the outboard off the boat and remove the left bracket
(lookin at it from rear) to get to that back screw that holds the trim motor on
or can you support the motor and just remove the bracket to get to it?

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR HELP!!!!

Try this. It may work. Tilt motor all the way up and set on the locks. Remove big pivot pin at top of tilt shaft. Push shaft down and the tilt mechanism may pivot outward enough to get to those back screws. You'll have to open the manual release valve to be able to tilt motor and then to push shaft back into cylinder.
