Johnson Javelin 85 Power Trim

I have a bad trim motor on my power trim
I got a new motor now the problem
How do I install it without taking the big motor down
OR do I have to take the motor mounts off to change it
HELP cant afford a shop

Hi Jay,
Easiest way is to remove the power trim unit as a whole and replace the motor on your bench. Remove the six bolts (three per side) and the cross pin from the center tilt ram. Unit should pull out - feed the wiring gently through the clamp bracket....
Motor should be in the full up position. Back the pressure release screw out about 2 turns and you should be able to manually tilt the motor and lock it up...

The Unit Did Not Look Like It Would Come Out But I Just Went Check Again And I See It Will
Hope The New Trim Motor Works
In Case It Doesnt

Tilt Motor Installed and working
now I need to put fluid in the unit
How Do I do that
