Boat "leaning" question

My boat leans to the left when on plane...Is this due primarily to the RH prop rotation? Pushes the boat higher on the right side? My load was pretty evenly balanced (though I might have additional wait in the storage compartments on that side).

Thoughts?

(No, I don't want an advertisement from the smart tabs aficionados ;)

Yes, prop torque. Can't tell you how to fix it if you consider an adjustable tab plug as "an advertisement from the smart tabs aficionados" ;)

Well I have adjustable trim tabs already, just not the "smart tabs" :)

I tried raising the left tab to get the bow up on that side, but couldn't tell a noticeable difference (didn't raise it much tho)

You need to lower the left tab.

BTW, your switches work kinda backwards . . . Imagine the switches as connected to your bow, not the tabs. If wired correctly, when you push the Starboard switch forward, the Port tab goes down and the Starboard bow goes down . . . If you pull the Starboard switch back, the port tab comes up and so should the Starboard bow. Also, the best way to operate them is to count when you hold them down. When you learn how many seconds (counting) it takes for full up or full down then you can use that count to approximate where your tabs are. Also, use single bumps on the switch for small adjustments.

Ok

The drive doesn't have a whale fin.

And the trim tabs are marked on the panel for bow up down and for port/starboard.

The counting thing is a great idea though. Thanks!

Have you tried Smart Tabs???
Just Kidding....

Where do you boat Center Hill Lake, Percy Priest?

There used to be a marine salvage place on Old Nashville Highway headed towards Smyrna on the right-hand side of the road that always did me right when I was restoring old motor boats.

boats lean on plane for all sorts of reasons... unbalanced load, wind, seas, etc. i don't think my boat has ever just got up and stayed perfectly balanced.

you have adjustable tabs. if they work, that will solve your problem. did they solve your problem?

JPPriest right now. Going to cruise out to Center Hill at some point in the near future and down to Tim's Ford as well.

I take it you know a little about Middle Tenn?

Haven't played around with them but the one time so we'll see next time I'm out there.

I went to school at MTSU and worked as GM for a company there for 8 years. I moved from Tennessee to Florida 7 years ago.

Center Hill is my favorite lake in the area, much deeper than Percy Priest and lots fewer stumps. Not to mention it is waaaay quieter there, or it used to be anyway.
