I read on a post the other day about a spray that could be used on some engines. I found a value on the engine that looks like an air value stem but the value has a crack running down its length. I am not sure if that could be part of the problem also. I am hoping that the value and or the spray will help. I am having a problem were the engine will not run over 1300 rpms and after looking at the engine I am not sure I should try to work on the carbs my self.

The valve you mentioned is the service valve. It is there to add decarb agents or fogging oil. It is attached to the primer. I've replaced two that were leaking myself, and added one to an engine that did not have one originally. The crack you found will likely cause a fuel leak. Your OMC dealer will sell you a new one. I'm not sure about your other problem. Unless the crack is large enough to starve the engine for fuel, it is likely unrelated.

Also that valve needs to be pointing paralle with choke solenoid to be in the "RUN" position.

Thanks for the help, its a place to start which is more then I had. I'll try the value frist.
My next guess is going to be the fuel pump. The strangest thing to me is that it starts so easy that the carb's cannot all be bad at the same time.
