1987 super six 150 hard to start and wont idle

i am having problems starting this motor an dwhen it does start it wont idle but will run at higher rpms. also when slowing down off plane it dies almost like it floods itself out if any suggestions they would be appreciated.

I have had a similar problem with 100 hp ,carburettors have been cleaned in particular of low rpms fuel jets.

you need to give those carbs a real good clean .......

rebuild just do not clean them

i consider cleaning just spraying it down and putting back together
rebuild is using all new parts and going through each circuit in the carb
