How do you go about testing to see if an oil gauge is faulty or not, I have replaced the sender but to no avail?

Re: Oil gauge testing

had the same problem here. All the tests mentioned in the pdf posted from Don went fine but my gauge was all the way to the right turning the key. Then I saw that the rear part of my gauge has 4 screws + the positiv connection for the light. 3 of the srews S,G and I but the forth wasn't labeled. Since the ground was running right next to it down from the bulb negative to the G screw I tried with a washer + nut to make a connection to the ground here. This solved my problem. At least when I turn the key it shows now 0 PSI. The gauge I have is an older model from Faria

Re: Oil gauge testing

Thanks for that but I have a differnet type as you can see.
Does anyone know of a direct replacement for mine, I can't seem to find that teleflex part no. anywhere?

Middle screw is for mounting, and sometimes grounding.

VDO usually makes gauges for Volvo. And that looks like a Volvo gauge.
Your best bet to get a matching gauge is to visit a Volvo dealer and order one from the accessory catalog.
