Lower Carrier Nut

I need to fashion some kind of wrench to re-install the 4 in lower carrier nut on my Merc 850. I drilled the old one out and now am looking to avoid spending 80 bucks on a tool that I will use only once. None of the shops around my home will work on this motor.

Any ideas on how to install this nut without the special Merc tool?
Thanks

Re: Lower Carrier Nut

I've replaced them just by first making sure the nut and threads are clean and spin free. Then just a small aluminum bar to use as a punch, and tap it in tight.
