Honda parts confusion ....

I decided that I do some maintenance on BF20 that I recently purchased.
The manual is listing Oil filter as 15400-PFB-004. Got 15400-PFB-014 since I was told that this is new filter superseding the 004 - Is this right ?
http://www.honda.ca/MarineEng/Acces...lication/Honda Marine Spark Plug Applications

Price for the spark plugs is shocking ... $16 for one ! (NGK CR5EH-9 Honda part 98059-55916) On the Honda website they list different spark plug that is way cheaper - what's right ?

Oil - manual indicates to use regular automotive oil( 10W30) but the I thought that I should use marine oil - anyone ?

One more question - anyone managed to fine Honda touch up paint ?
Dealer doesn't have it and I don't know what to look for in generic brands

Thanks

that is correct for the oil filter...we get $9.39 each for the spark plugs...you should use a good four stroke outboard oil

I'd go with Honda on the oil filter.

The NGK plug is probably an iridium, and not necessary for your engine. They are good plugs, however, and should last several years of moderate use.

Automotive oil will work fine, as long as it meets SAE specs and is properly maintained. Not sure "marine" oil offers a vast difference in anything except price.

A Honda dealer can get you the correct paint and clear coat, but be prepared for sticker shock. It's ugly!

Thanks for the prompt reply guys :)
I just checked the installed plugs and they look good so I won't replace them yet. The only available marine oil around here is Nautilus (made by Shell) @$4.99 per quart. ( .9...L so I presume it's quart - metric country up here :)

The touch up paint is pain since if I purchase generic it is impossible to check for match without opening the package. Local store has 5 different silver shades just from Honda.

Try sparkplug.com for the plugs you need.
Try wix.com for the oil and fuel filters
The Dupli-color paint for wheel rims at Pep Boys is a good match for Honda oyster silver paint.
Good luck!
