I have a new pontoon boat that everytime I start it the engine the radio turns on. I took it to the dealer where I bought it and all they managed to do was tear my seat. Does anyone know what causeing the radio problem so I can fix it myself. I don't want to take it back to the dealer.

Re: Pontoon Radio

sounds like the radio is on switched power. meaning that when ya turn the switch on it powers up the radio. can you turn the radio off after it powers up? i just put a radio in my boat and used non switched power. in other words the radio can be turned off and on without anything operating on the boat. ya need to be carefull and turn the radio off though or it'll be on till the battery is dead. i also have to remove my faceplate or the radio stays off but in it's standby mode where the face is illuminated and the clock is showing. which also is a power drain. to cure that i just remove the faceplate......if this is the case. where yer on switch power for the radio. ya just need to find a place that is non switched. or always has power, and move the radio power leads over to that power supply....
