...so far so good.
We took our recently purchased '90 bayliner 18'/Capri w/ the force 90 out for a trial run last night on a local lake.
Started right up...idled fine and ran great. I don't know what prop I have but I hit about 38mph flat out....which is reasonable for my purposes. It didn't sound like the engine was completely 'maxed' out so I might recheck the linkage to see if it 'full on' (any pointers on this??). Again...38-ish is fine for what I have in mind....but if there is an extra 2-3 mph in there....I'll take it if I can get it.
Regardless....all very good so far. Next will be the compression test.

38 ish sound ok to me.Though your speedo could be off 2 to 3 over or under.
Would be really good to know your rpm. You could add a tinytach easily to check.Or perhaps borrow from a marina if you suggested you may need to buy a prop.
